3dsmax Batch Camera Viewport Preview
Batch Camera Viewport Preview
Description
Batch Camera Viewport Preview is a 3dsmax automation tool for creating viewport previews for multiple cameras in a scene. It enhances the native Make Preview functionality by adding support for MP4 output format. Useful for previewing both Sequences and Stills.
Version Requirement
3dsmax 2020+
Features
- List all scene cameras and display their first and last key frames
- Double clicking on a camera in the list changes the view to selected camera
- Use Active Viewport option to preview non camera viewport views. Only Active Time Segment can be used as preview range in this mode.
- Multiple options for cameras preview range: active time segment, camera first and last frame or custom range
- Use the same value for custom range min and max spinners to save only one frame for each selected camera.
- Support for most native output formats
- Saves video output preview as MP4 when FFMPEG is available
- FFMPEG easily downloadable via settings tab
- Support for negative frames
- Play preview when complete
- Open output folder when complete
- Sequences are saved in their own folder
- Visual style options and frames text overlay are easily configurable via Settings tab
- Multiple output naming templates available based on scene name, camera name and animation range values
- Option to choose dot or underscore as frame number delimiter
- Settings are remembered between sessions
- Use ESC key to abort the batch
Output Notes
- Maximum resolution for MP4 is 4096x2304 @56 fps (H.264 codec limitation)
- The script will read the current Time Configuration FPS value when setting the videos playback rate.
- AVI has a built in size limit of 1GB per file. For long animations use MP4 or image sequence output to overcome this size limitation.
- For image sequences, the maximum resolution is set to 6000x6000. The success of previewing at high resolutions will depend on your GPU available video memory and scene content. 3dsmax will most likely crash once it starts running out of memory.
